Activist playwright Wayne Self is a Huffington Post blogger, GLAAD media partner, and composer whose essays and plays have, at times, catapulted him to national prominence on issue ranging from religious culture to LGBT equality. His latest musical, Upstairs, about the deadliest crime against LGBT people in U.S. history, the 1973 arson fire at the Up Stairs Lounge in New Orleans, premieres in New Orleans this June on the 40th anniversary of the fire.
